No, thank God! I hate bats. I know they are great for bugs but when we had one fly at us in the house then found a whole family in the basement they just give me the creeps. As long as they stay away from me I'm ok. But if I had to get one off my line...I think I would cast, cut the line and let it fly. Wouldn't care if it was my favorite lure.

I've never landed one but I have had bats take my fly off of the water and drop it when they realize it's not real. Actually, it's quite common on some of the ponds I fish on as the area is full of bats and the best fishing is right at sundown which is when the hungry bats come out.

No but I've snagged a gull in the same way. It was a bit messy.
