The only two catfish that will grow that large in the United States are the Flathead and Blue catfish. For one to reach 45lb it would take between 20 to 25 years. That catfish has been in there a good while and is probably the offspring of one left from the days it was a pay lake. There may be some of the original catfish in there too that will go up to about 60+lbs. It's important to turn them old catfish lose if your fishing in larger lakes and rivers so they can replenish the stock. On a small pay lake like that then a flathead would taste pretty good no matter how big or small it is. Bluecat would be a little too tough that size. Just cut the red meat out of it so it don't taste muddy. You might wanna turn them back lose anyhow for somebody else to catch at a later date when it gets a little bigger. Real nice catfish ya caught there. :)
