I would like to hear from anglers based on their personal experience. The guys on the television fishing shows have relationships with the tackle companies, so their opinions are modified by that. If you could rank the the lures you have had the most success with from best to worse. Also, please what state(s) or bodies of water is your experience and opinions based on. Thanks in advance.

Use a Carolina rig with about a 6 foot leader and a Zoom watermelon seed lizard with a chartreuse tail. I use seventeen pound test on the reel, and 12 on the leader. I usually use a 3/4 to a 1 oz egg weight and a small brass swivel to connect the leader. Put at least one bead between the weight and the swivel to keep the weight from cutting your line. I drag the lure across the bottom at different rates of retrieve according to the activeness of the bass.

I coulda sworn I answered something like this a week or so ago... For surface lures, I like Rebel Pop-R, Lobina Rico, Heddon Zara Spook, Heddon Super Spook, Heddon Super Spook, Jr, Heddon Rattlin' Spook, Heddon One-Knocker Spook, Strike King Rage Tail Toad, Strike King Rage Tail Shad and a few others. These listed are the lures that I primarily use most. For bottom fishing or deep water, I like 4 inch Gary Yamamoto Fat Ika, 4 1/2 inch straight-tailed California Worms plastic worm on a drop shot rig, 6 inch straight-tailed Roboworm plastic worm on a drop shot rig, 7 inch straight-tailed Roboworm plastic worm on a Texas rig, 8 inch curly-tailed Bass Pro Shops home brand plastic worm on a Texas rig, 10 inch curly-tailed BPS plastic worm on a Texas rig, 12 inch curly-tailed BPS plastic worm on a Texas rig. Other than plastics, I like a 1/2 ounce football head jig with a craw trailer, a 3/4 ounce football head jig/craw trailer, or a big 1 to 1 1/2 ounce football head jig/craw trailer. I don't do much crankbait, spinnerbait, or buzzbait fishing. I dwell in swimbaits a bit, but I don't think you use 8-, 9-, 10-. 11-, or 12-inch rainbow trout looking baits much in Canada.

I have never got much action from a top water bait.

I do use spinner baits and seem very effective in weeds and around structure.

Rattle Traps are guaranteed to attract anything from Crappies to large mouth to Northern Pike, that's a great bait!

Shad Raps were effective (Lake Mead in Las Vegas)... work good in Minnesota too.

Pitching jigs with a twistie tail up shallow is also a good technique and is most effective during the spring when the water is warmer up shallow.

All of these others besides Lake Mead have been used in Minnesota. We fish various lakes (being from the land of 10,000 lakes).

Good Luck!

My favorite "go to"lure is a jointed Rapala in the red crawfish pattern. I have never got too many bites on spinners and/or plastic baits. I also try the ole minnow on a bobber close to heavy cover. I have fished Kansas lakes and rivers most of my life

It's hard to argue with statistics. Every year, more bass are caught on plastic worms that all other lures combined. You may, at times, find another lure more productive, but, by and large, a plastic worm will put bass in your boat.

Depending on the color of the water and clouds, use worms, such as white w/red dots. Purple worms work well. Poppers also attract LM Bass.

Gold Fish also work.

I've personally seen my father catch many bass on a brand of worm he called "firetail". It's a dark colored worm with a bright reddish orange tail. It gets their attention.

Believe it or not, my best luck with bass is using a fly rod. I usually use a junebug

some one told me if nothing else is working use a texas rigged purple worm and if you think your reeling slow reel slower. It's always worked for me in ponds.
