Have a look in Angling Times , there is a company in there called Used tackle / Dragon Carp they do a kit , it consists of 2 rods ( about 3lb tc ) 2 reels with free spool feature , already filled with line all in a holdall , there is some traces as well but I'd sooner use my own.

The rod's are 3 piece but cast well , I brought the set last year and don't think you can go wrong with it for £50 have a look.

Load the reels with braid and you'll cast half a Mackerel 80 yards plus.

Get your self a Berkley Lightening Rod custom with an ABU Garcia Cardinal spinner reel. they're on sale at Dick's donning products for $sixty 9.ninety 9 with a $20 dollar mail in rebate. So when you get your $20 lower back, think approximately payed $fifty 4 and a few commerce with taxes integrated for an excellent blend. after which you will spend yet yet another $40 some element on handle and besides the fact that be under $one hundred.....magnificent sturdy fortune

For the best deals around you could buy yourself a couple of carp rods and reels that would work just as well for deadbaiting for pike. i would advise getting a combo deal where you get rods and reels as these are often better value. Try this link for http://www.paidonresults.net/c/19231/1/207/0">Lathams Fishing they do good deals and offer free delivery. i would advise buying baitrunner reels and kitting them out with 15lb line. have a look at the whychwood rods and reels as they are well thought of in pike fishing circles and start at very reasonable prices.

What is your price range? How big of Pike are you catching?

IMO, a good Pike rod for your techniques would be a 7' medium/heavy or heavy (depending on the size of Pike you are catching) St. Croix Premier Series Trigger Rod (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74388_100002006_100000000_100002000_100-2-6) as for the reel, I would use a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74090_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1) in its largest or next-to largest size.

Just buy two of each, two rods, and two reels like the ones I suggested, oh and for the line, 30- or 40-pound PowerPro Braid would be my choice. (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44283____SearchResults)
