Yes, you should never grab a "saltwater" or "Sail-Cat"(Gaft-top Sail Catfish). Many species of fish have sharp fins in saltwater. However, other than "Rock-Fish", "Toad-Fish", "Rays", "Porcupine" or "Blow-Fish", and "Sharks", most small to medium fish are alright to handle safely.
Obviously, if you are fishing on a "Reef",(like the Great Barrier Reef, or Key West, Fla Reef), and catch a strange "finny" fish I wouldn't "play catch" with it!)
Good Fishing!

In Australia we have blue bottles which are a ocean stinger and one of the deadliest species in the world - the box jellyfish. The stone fish is also deadly.

The Quran mentions 'barzakh' which means a barrier. It separates salt water from sweet water. The 'Barzakh' is actually not a barrier . It is in fact the opposite . The waters are not forbidden to tresspass. Sweet water flowing from the rivers and salt water do not mix immediately but eventually they mix. It is like when you pour milk in a cup of coffee they don't mix quickly but when you stir them they mix.

I thought catfish were freshwater,
but anyway don't grab sculpins, lionfish, or cod... Or rays, great white sharks, electric eels....
Oh heck. Just make sure you always use a net.

Definitely stingrays! That barb will get you if you are not paying attention. Ribbonfish will get you with those sharp teeth too!!

Most any kind of shark. Their skin is very rough, worse than sandpaper.
