Do fish (bass/sunnies/pike) sleeps at night? If so, how long?

My guppies sleeps at night by stop swimming and descent to the bottom. At night when i turn on my room light, they wake up and swims.

No the do not sleep. Sunnies and Northerns and perch sink near the bottom, and remain somewhat dormant. Bass may actually remain active at night and can easily be caught with floating rapalas reeled slowly across the water.



Take a bright flashlight and walk along the shore shining the light into the shallows, and you will be amazed at the things you can see.

Fish don't sleep,they go into a slight trance like state,but

at the first sign of danger are instantly awake

Fish dont sleep they have to keep fresh water flowing over there gills or they'll suffocate.

No they dont....in fact some fish are nocturnal...meaning they rest during the day and prowl at nite...but not sleep.
