Due to the new tax laws in regards to donating a boat, car, r.v., etc. the most you can write off for that donation is the amount that the non-profit organization or charity was able to get for it when they sell it. You use to be able to write off the "blue book" amount but that no longer applies. If you do donate it, you should recieve a letter from the charity or organization with the amount of sell.

There is a blue book for boat values made by the same people who make it for cars...I think it's the Kelley Blue Book or try also Galves Wholesale Guide

http://www.charityboats.org/ offers appraised-value deductions on select boats. That means if you boat is appraised at $54,000, that will be the same amount for your deduction. They don't fire sell like other charities, but instead protect the donors interests. Awesome charity.
