BQ: What fish would you avoid eating?

BQ: What fish would you recommend eating?

I normally catch and release, just thinking about having a fish fry.

Hmm... y'know, I'm not sure how rock bass taste. I've never eaten one. They are in the sunfish family, so I'm assuming they're rather tasty like their bluegill and redear and pumpkinseed and crappie brethren.

BQ 1:

What fish would I avoid eating personally or just in general? Personally, all bass. The last time I kept a bass I was 16 years old. In general, all the ones that you don't plan on eating. There is absolutely no sense in wasting fish.

BQ 2:

For a "fish fry", I would personally recommend crappie, tilapia or catfish. Not only are crappie an f'n blast to catch, they're great eating. Fillet 'em out, roll 'em in a salt/pepper/flour/cornmeal mixture and fry in peanut oil and (in the words of Emeril Lagassi) BAM! Small channel cats, bullheads, and swai make good eating.

Some say they are but many say they taste awful. Its like bluefish. I CANT stand the taste of bluefish but my Grandma loves it.

BQ-Anything in the minnow family or pretty much everything for that matter.

BQ-None. I recommend releasing them all...except invasives.
