I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a minimum or maximum length limit in Missouri (specifically Table Rock Lake if there are any special regulations) for bluegill taken by pole and line. For both live bait and for human consumption.

From another Table Rock resident ... there is no size/length limit on bluegills, nor any numbers limit. you can catch them for bait or for consumption, and keep any size you want.

I like using crickets for bluegill bait, but nightcrawlers will work fine, as will very small jigs/flies. To make it more fun, I use a micro-light rod/reel and 4 pound line.

The Missouri Dept of Conservation hs a very informative web site including all fishing and hunting regulations.

Length Limits

◾ All bluegill, green sunfish and bullheads more than 5 inches long and other

species of nongame fish more than 12 inches long must be returned to the

water unharmed immediately after being caught by any of the methods listed

above except pole and line. The daily limits for nongame fish apply to the large

fish taken by pole and line.

◾ There is no length limit on bighead carp, common carp, gizzard shad, goldfish,

grass carp and silver carp when used as bait.

Seasons: Live bait may be taken throughout the year.

I doubt it. Most lakes encourage you to take as many panfish as you can.
